Ground Transportation for Your Cruise

Many cruise lines offer ground transportation for your cruise but deciding if you should use it will depend on a few factors.

1. When You're Arriving - if you're arriving on the day of your cruise, it will likely be easier for you to use pre-arranged transportation from your cruise line. If you are coming in a day (or more) earlier likely won't make sense for you to use pre-arranged transportation from your cruise line because you will have to get back to the airport to use it. You can use a local transportation company or an ride share company to get to your cruise port if you're leaving from somewhere besides the airport.

2. How Many People Are Traveling - If you are three or four people, it may make more sense to take a ride share or a taxi because the amount will be divided by the group versus individual tickets on pre-arranged transportation.

3. How Far Your Port is From the Airport - If you're traveling out of Cape Canaveral (Orlando) or Portsmouth (London, UK) are over an hour from their respective airports whereas New York, New Orleans, and Miami are cruise ports near or in the city centre. If you are traveling to the cruise port from the hotel, a ride share likely won't be impacted by surge pricing but if you are leaving the port by ride share and it's in a remote area, it's more likely to be impacted by surge pricing because of the cruise traffic. If it is far from the airport, I highly recommend booking pre-arranged transportation. Depending on the time of your flight, you may be able to do an excursion in your port city while the transportation company keeps your luggage.

However you're choosing to get to and from your cruise, I can help you make the right decision to make the most of your time and budget.
